Kentucky residents may be familiar with 43-year-old ‘Game of Thrones” star Lena Headey. The actress is reportedly living in England with her 6-year-old son. However, there are reports that a court has ordered Headey to bring her child back to Los Angeles so that he can be closer to his father.

Headey and her ex-husband reportedly have a child custody agreement that allows the father 10 days of visitation each month. According to reports, Headey moved her son because she thinks that the English school system is better than the one in Los Angeles. The father was reportedly upset about the move, and a judge ordered Headey to bring the child back to Los Angeles by Sept. 5.

Since then, the judge who is overseeing the child custody case decided to allow Headey to remain in England with her son until she wraps up filming ‘Game of Thrones.” During this time, Headey must pay the father’s travel expenses so that he can visit his son while the boy is living abroad. The couple was married in 2007 and divorced in 2011. Headey also has a daughter with another man.

A parent who is concerned that their ex-spouse may take their children out of the country can ask a judge for a restraining order that prohibits international travel. An attorney might be able to help a divorced parent with this type of request by presenting evidence that shows a restraining order is necessary. If a parent has already taken a child overseas without the other parent’s permission, an attorney may request a court order for the child’s return.
